A Quick and Simple Recipe — Arepas

Arepas have been around for a long time, and although its exact date of origin cannot be determined, the dough used to create this recipe has been around for 3,000 years.

Arepas originated in Colombia and have become a staple dish in both Colombia and Venezuela.

The dish is quite versatile because it can be filled with a wide variety of ingredients such as: cheese, chicken, avocado, beans, eggs and tomatoes — the list goes on.

All you need to make this recipe is ground maize dough, which can be made simply with masarepa, which is a pre-cooked ground corn flour, salt and water.

They can be prepared in an oven, or pan fried on a skillet.

If you want to make the recipe for yourself, follow the steps below!
