The advisory board was founded in 2022 by Jersey City Council President Joyce Watterman and currently holds 11 volunteer members. @jcwomensadvisoryboard

Speranza Theatre Company, nestled in Jersey City’s Bergen Square at the historic Apple Treehouse, is showing their limited show, “IN HER FOOTSTEPS,” for Women’s History Month.

The interactive show is a celebration and tribute to different women in history like Nellie Bly, Mary T. Norton, Dr. Maya Angelou and more! @speranzatheatre

EDITOR’S NOTE: Muñoz moved to the U.S. at fourteen years old.   Jersey City business owner Oscar Muñoz has been detained for almost a year now in Pennsylvania.

Muñoz, who has been in the U.S. for 25 years and has two children born here, described to Slice of Culture about the challenges and conditions he’s been facing at Moshannon Valley Processing Center, a privately held ICE facility. This comes at a time as the Trump administration touts the roll back on previous immigration policies.

He is expected to face sentencing on April 25. In a letter to the judge, Muñoz’s 18-year-old daughter wrote her considerations for her father’s case.
